Part-Time Bookkeeper – Accountancy Practice

We are partnering with a rapidly growing accountancy practice, based in the Manchester area, to recruit a Part-Time Bookkeeper.

This role is fully remote, offering you the flexibility to manage your 25-hour work week in a way that fits your schedule.You’ll be joining a forward-thinking firm that values both expertise and adaptability, providing the opportunity to play a key role in supporting a variety of clients with their accounting needs.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  
End-to-End Bookkeeping: Process payments, invoices, income, and receipts, ensuring all data is accurately entered into accounting software and organised for easy access.
Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements such as income and expenditure reports, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements, providing key insights for the business.
VAT and Payroll: Manage VAT returns and conduct weekly and monthly payroll runs, ensuring full compliance with deadlines and regulations.
Accounts Reconciliation: Assist in verifying the accuracy of client accounts, promptly alerting the Accountant to any errors or discrepancies.
Support in Year-End Accounts: Collaborate with the Accountant to prepare year-end accounts and financial reports, supporting the smooth finalisation of client books.
Expense Management: Handle employee expense claims and ensure they are correctly recorded and processed.
Client Liaison: Provide a point of contact for client queries, ensuring their bookkeeping needs are met to a high standard and helping to maintain strong client relationships.
  
Ideal Candidate:
  
•Proven experience working in an accountancy practice, with an understanding of managing multiple client accounts.
•Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and proficiency in bookkeeping best practices.
•Experience in preparing VAT returns, payroll processing, and financial statement development.
•Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot inconsistencies and resolve discrepancies.
•Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining communication with the wider team and clients.
