About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing tax team. Due to recent client wins, we’re looking for an Innovations Relief Tax Associate Director to bring expertise in computer science and software development, supporting R&D tax claims. You’ll work with clients across industries, helping them maximise R&D tax reliefs while being part of a dynamic, supportive team within a global firm.
Key Responsibilities
•Manage R&D tax engagements, including financials, staffing, and client relationships.
•Meet clients to explain our services and scope of work.
•Prepare and submit R&D tax relief claims to HMRC.
•Lead interviews with clients to identify qualifying R&D activities and costs.
•Write and edit technical descriptions for HMRC reports.
•Support claims with thorough documentation in line with BIS guidelines.
•Build networks within the firm and with external contacts.
•Identify and pursue business development opportunities.
•Liaise with HMRC on R&D claims and inquiries.
•Review work of junior staff and ensure quality standards are met.
About You
•Degree or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science (or similar).
•Experience in software/IT and knowledge of R&D tax incentives.
•Proven ability to prepare R&D tax relief claims.
•Strong written communication skills.
•Experience with HMRC inquiries.
