We are seeking an experienced and motivated R&D Tax Manager to join our dynamic tax advisory team. The successful candidate will manage Research and Development (R&D) tax credit claims, provide strategic advice to clients, and ensure compliance with current tax legislation. This role offers a blend of technical tax expertise, client interaction, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients across various industries, delivering high-quality R&D tax credit claims.
- Lead client meetings to identify eligible R&D activities and expenditures.
- Prepare and review technical reports and supporting documentation for R&D claims.
- Provide strategic tax advice related to R&D incentives, ensuring compliance with HMRC or relevant tax authorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and technical specialists, to optimise claim accuracy.
- Keep up to date with changes in R&D tax legislation and communicate updates to clients and internal teams.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, providing technical guidance and support.
- Assist in business development activities, including client proposals and presentations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Proven experience in R&D tax credits, preferably within a public accounting firm or tax consultancy.
- Strong understanding of R&D tax legislation and related guidance.
- Technical background in science, engineering, or technology is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise language.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
